Job Summary
Examines and treats patients independently and functions in collaboration under the direct and indirect supervision of a physician. Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and recovery of patients in the practice setting. Complies patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examinations.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for taking detailed medical histories and performing complete physical exams.
- Provides diagnoses and recommends treatment plan.
- Provides treatment, counseling and education to patients regarding medical conditions, illnesses and injuries.
- Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies.
- Prescribes appropriate medications and physical therapy.
- Completes all required documentation in chart necessary for patient care plan and billing.
- Discuss and formulate proper and personalized health care plans for patients in consultation with the supervising physician.
Qualifications
- Required Master's Degree or equivalent Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master's, post-master's, or doctorate degree from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
- 2 years of relevant experience Current Clinical Experience Required
- 1 year of relevant experience Experience as a Nurse Practitioner Preferred
- Experience in Oncology and/or Infusion services Preferred
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 60 Days required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days preferred
