Job Summary

The IC Accountant is an integral role responsible for delivering the month-end financial information. This position plays a critical part in the company`s month-end close process resulting in complete an accurate financial statement. Will be responsible for preparing, managing, and controlling journal entries, balance sheets, reconciliations, and other relevant accounting issues.


Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and intercompany accounts. Analyze any discrepancies related to Intercompany transactions. Analyze aging for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables. Prepare GRIR analysis and resolve the outstanding item.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate design, review, posting and reconciliation of month end close and reporting tasks, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations. Coordination with other intercompany partners to ensure that balances are in sync during the closing process.
  • Monitor intercompany balances and help identify resolutions when out of balance.
  • Monitors pending Intercompany requests (either Sending or Receiving) and provides status updates to parties who will need to action such requests.
  • Develop, document, implement and manage accounting processes, controls and systems to ensure appropriate level of internal control.
  • Assist with both internal and external audit requests.
  • Part of a high-performance management team charged with maximizing EBITDA and return on investment.
  • Trains and assists Division personnel in utilizing CEMEX reporting systems to obtain key management information.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, CMA or CFM designation or strong candidacy preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience. Industry experience helpful.
  • Experience in accounting analysis/special projects.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Computer literate, in SAP and PC based applications. Strong Excel skills.
  • Current knowledge regarding the conceptual framework underlying financial accounting.
  • Diplomacy and ability to function as a leader in a team environment are required.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, work as a team member as well as individually.

Capable of working in an open concept office environment


Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
  • Job involves sitting most of the time with walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors
