The Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Military Student Services, this position manages all aspects of the VA State Approving Agencies (SAA) approval processes and ensures compliance in all areas. The individual will be responsible for the completion and submission of VA program approval applications for all states in which Embry-Riddle Worldwide operates. They will also prepare and submit VA Compliance Survey, Risk-Based, and Targeted Risk-Based Survey packages to VA audit personnel.

They are responsible for data management and maintenance of student records in compliance with Federal VA and State Approving Agencies. They are expected to work independently with limited direction from management. The Compliance Manager will work in close collaboration with other Worldwide departments to coordinate documents for the VA education approval process in order to provide accurate information for program and certificate approval at each ERAU Worldwide campus location.

The individual must be able to manage conflicting priorities and adhere to strict deadlines. The Compliance Manager will remain abreast of VA legislation, policies, projects, programs, and issues in support of Veterans Education Programs. They will assist in policy and program planning, as well as interpret, monitor, and analyze information regarding policies and procedures.

As a manager, they will assist in the hiring of VA Work Studies and the delegation of their duties in support of the Department of Military & Veteran Student Services. They will also directly supervise full-time compliance personnel and delegate appropriate duties to other compliance staff.

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Experience leading team members preferred.
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to use good judgment and make informed decisions.
  • Above average organizational skills and ability to independently prioritize tasks.
  • Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft -Operating Systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and internet end-user applications.
  • Experience in evaluating transfer credit or academic advising is highly desirable.
  • Military/dependent experience is highly desirable.
