This Position reports to:

Local Division Controller - US

Your role and responsibilities:

Leads the local accounting & reporting team and the local internal controls team while focused on complete, accurate, and timely completion of accounting activities (e.g., reporting, intercompany, budgeting, cost center review, etc.) for the US MONM Division. Ensures compliance with internal controls over financial reporting, internal guidelines, procedures, and processes.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Overseas, reviews, and/or supports the month-end close process, including account reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, balance sheet review, etc.
  • Ensures timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of reporting package and associated disclosures.
  • Ensures high quality financial data and business information, in line with defined standards and financial closing schedules while overseeing the preparation of financial statements in the appropriate format to include in timely filings with regulatory agencies.
  • Performs analysis of accounts and highlights any discrepancies/anomalies for correction.
  • Serves as an escalation point or subject matter expert for resolution of accounting transactions and reporting questions.
  • Drives the definition and implementation of global standards and business specific guidelines to ensure continuous improvement in financial control process within their area of responsibility.
  • Leads Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) compliance for specific areas (e.g., record- to-report, order-to-cash, etc.) to ensure that processes and controls are designed effectively and address financial reporting.
  • Enforces and/or provides input to ABB group accounting standards and compliance with ABB's Accounting & Reporting Guidelines (A&GR), local GAAP, and ICoFR with ABB group charter, as applicable.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with minimum 10 years experience as a controller; with minimum 5 years' experience in a plant.
  • Experience with Daily Financials, Month End Close, Accounts Payable, MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), PowerBI, SAP or other MRP systems.
  • Preferred certification includes CPA
