Location: Washington, DC - Remote

Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizen (eligible for Public Trust clearance)

Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Database Engineer to join our team in support of a federal client. This role is 100% remote, with occasional on-site attendance if specifically requested by the customer. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise databases that support mission-critical operations.


What You'll Do


  • Manage and maintain enterprise databases and supporting infrastructure in a 24x7 environment.



  • Plan and execute database migration and upgrade initiatives.



  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues to ensure availability and performance.



  • Document current and new database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting best practices.



  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, optimize SQL queries, and adjust indexes to resolve performance issues.



  • Ensure all databases are maintained in compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).




What We're Looking For


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).



  • Minimum 4 years of experience in database engineering or administration.



  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or under general direction.



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to explain technical issues to non-technical users.



  • U.S. Citizen, eligible for a Public Trust clearance.




Preferred Skills & Certifications


  • Prior experience supporting federal government environments.
