Description

The Process Technician plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized operating procedures, accurate routing times, and effective training programs. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize documentation, ensure process consistency, and support performance tracking and improvement initiatives to optimize safety, quality and efficiency. This full-time position will report to the Plant Manager at our Safco Products location in Milford, Iowa.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute training process in partnership with Process Engineer for onboarding new and existing products into the Milford facility
  • Create, maintain, and improve process documentation including SOPs, visual work instructions, workflow diagrams, and packaging documentation
  • Conduct time studies and ensure routing times are accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate directly with Engineering to address product concerns and support new product introductions and release
  • Partner with Production to identify and help resolve BOM-related questions and escalate to resolution
  • Delivers training on educational tools and platforms, including work instructions and process documentation
  • Champion the use of learning platforms and visual management tools across the facility
  • Create and maintain packaging documentation, including bulk packaging support
  • Support cross-functional projects involving quality, engineering, and operations
  • Oversee documentation and training processes, ensuring materials are current and effective
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve training content
  • Identify risks or inefficiencies and proactively work toward resolution
  • Other duties, as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minium of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with process control systems and manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to use inspection tools and read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication skills required for both learning and teaching technical procedures
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with computers (e.g., MS Office, ERP systems)

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Associates degree in technical or manufacturing-related field preferred
  • Experience in creating and maintaining documentation in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a wood / metal manufacturing plant a plus
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and process control

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting pay range for this position is $22.75 - $28.44 per hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
