Overview:
Senior UXO Supervisor conducts reports to and maintains day-to-day communications with the Site Manager, assisting with documenting site conditions and activities and interfacing with the USACE OESS.
IMPORTANT: FPM Remediations, Inc. is an 8(a) HUBZone business certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA). Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development of SOPs and the Work Plan
- Provide early detection and identification of potential problems and implement corrective measures
- Assist with preparing project reports and maintaining a Daily Activities Log
- Comply with and enforce all requirements of this WP and the Accident Prevention Plan
- (APP)/Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)
- Recommend changes to the level of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the UXOSO, as needed
- Evaluate and analyze any potential safety problems
- Implement safety-related corrective actions deadlines.
- Adheres to project-specific safety policies.
- Executes field activities, records and maintains adequate documentation.
- Performs field maintenance and calibration checks on geophysical detection instruments and related equipment as needed.
Field SUXOS will be responsible for all sweepline operations.
- Conduct inventories and accountability of all assigned line/support resources Identify personnel and equipment requirements to support sweepline operations
- Plan and direct all daily sweepline team activities
- Supervise Tier 1 inspection and, when necessary, any other tier inspections.
- Ensure sweepline UXO Tech IIs and IIIs accurately collect field data and complete all
- actions required to update project records.
- Ensure that sweepline UXO Techs are attending to the continued training of all sweepline
- Identify personnel and equipment requirements to support yard operations
- Plan and direct all daily support team activities
- Develop and implement the Site SOP's and Mutilation Manual with assistance from the
- UXOQCS and UXOSO.
- Conduct and document inspections of the Hazardous Waste and Materials Storage Pad.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide on-the-job training for UXO Tech IIIs (s) who qualify and may be called upon to
- temporarily perform support duties in the absence of the assigned UXO Tech III
- Supervise the Tier 2,3 and 4 inspections
- Responsible for certifying all MDAS (DD Form 1348-1A) before it is transported for final
- disposition.
Education and/or Experience:
- Graduate of a military EOD School of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia.
- Graduate of a UXO-TI Course, the EOD assistant's course or certification of the successful completion of a comprehensive assessment from a Department of Education accredited institution of higher education.
- NOTE: Documentation of course completion or completion of a comprehensive assessment must be provided with application for UXO vacancies.
- Eight (8) years MEC related experience, that demonstrates a familiarity with the process, procedures and equipment used for conducting MEC-related activities.
- Graduate of an OSHA-compliant 8-hour management and supervisor training course.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products including, Word, Excel and Outlook.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must have or obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon start to include,
- obtaining a Physician's statement indicating a successful pass of the HAZWOPER physical exam, otherwise known as a "Fit-for-Duty" exam (at company expense), and
- ongoing annual maintenance of a HAZWOPER certification.

The employee must be able to lift heavy equipment/supplies up to 50 lbs (Note: lifting more than 50 lbs requires two or more personnel).
This position also requires frequent walking. Fieldwork is performed in various outdoor terrain and regularly requires the ability to navigate uneven ground or other obstacles found in natural surroundings.
Work Environment:
Extensive travel to field sites may be required. Fieldwork involves performing physically demanding tasks and working 10-hour days (typically five (5) 10-hour days per week), potentially in adverse field conditions (cold, hot, high wind, dusty environment, rough terrain) in remote locations.
