The Senior Director of IT Infrastructure provides enterprise-wide leadership over the design, integration, and optimization of IT systems and infrastructure across a multi-site manufacturing organization. This role sets the strategic direction for infrastructure capabilities, ensuring scalability, reliability, and resilience to support both day-to-day operations and complex, technology-driven initiatives across multiple business units.
As a senior leader, the Director partners with manufacturing, other senior IT and security staff and corporate leadership to align infrastructure strategies with operational priorities, regulatory requirements, and future growth. This role demands a forward-thinking leader who can anticipate evolving technology needs, drive innovation, and deliver enterprise-class infrastructure solutions that enable business excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
* Provide leadership for enterprise infrastructure across all locations, ensuring long-term reliability, scalability, security, and resilience, while partnering with business and manufacturing leaders to anticipate future requirements and shape strategies that drive innovation, efficiency, and business continuity.
* Evaluating current network structure and identifying areas to upgrade to maintain world class environment.
* Direct and align cross-functional teams - including network, business applications, manufacturing systems, and administrative functions - to deliver integrated, high-performing technology solutions.
* Define and manage enterprise infrastructure projects, ensuring strategic alignment, resource optimization, adherence to security standards and on-time, on-budget delivery.
* Lead capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives, applying data-driven analysis to strengthen performance across the infrastructure environment.
* Conduct proactive root cause analysis and establish enterprise-level preventative practices to reduce downtime and optimize reliability in manufacturing-critical environments.
* Shape and direct vendor strategy and manage enterprise infrastructure services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with security and organizational standards.
* Oversee enterprise help desk priorities related to infrastructure to ensure consistent, high-quality service across business units. Effectively and timely communicating with end users on issues/projects.
* Stay ahead of industry trends by representing the organization at technology conferences and applying new insights to strengthen manufacturing and business operations.
* Ensure comprehensive technical documentation and reporting, providing clarity and transparency for executives and operational leaders.
* Serve as an enterprise-wide Infrastructure leader, providing strategic support and guidance across all business units as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a team of four or more IT Lead and develop a team of four or more IT professionals, ensuring the team is equipped to support enterprise-wide and manufacturing-specific infrastructure needs.
* Lead, build, develop, and mentor team members to build a high-performing, scalable IT infrastructure organization.
* Set priorities, allocate resources, and establish accountability to meet the needs of multiple business units.
* Drive a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the IT infrastructure team.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; Master's preferred
* Minimum of ten years' experience in information systems and technology, including seven or more years' experience driving IT infrastructure solutions and strategy in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server and associated network equipment.
* Demonstrated knowledge and success in efficiently managing, investigating, and improving upon IT infrastructure systems, including project management experience.
* Supervisory and staff management experience highly preferred
7 years: Experience driving IT infrastructure solutions and strategy in a manufacturing environment. (required)
