The Role

We are looking for an innovative and supportive individual to work on our IT team as a Manager, Insurance Core Platforms. In this role, you will report to Chief Administrative Officer, Corporate Strategy & Governance and be responsible for Curi's core insurance platform that comprises Policy Management (Oasis, Ventiv) , Claims Management (Oasis, Ventiv), Document Management (OnBase) and Forms (Crystal Reports, Eloquence). This role will provide leadership and direction to the Core Platform Team and work with their business partners to understand and prioritize their needs and deliver solutions to meet that.

Key Result Areas

Support Underwriting (UW), Claims, & Finance Teams in Their Needs

  • Work collaboratively with underwriting, claims, and finance departments to gather requirements and deliver platform solutions.
  • Provide expert-level support for the insurance core platforms.
  • Ensure alignment between platform capabilities and business goals.

Supervise Core Platform Teamwork

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Core Platform Team.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring appropriate resource allocation.
  • Conduct regular reviews and feedback sessions to enhance team performance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Ensure Timeliness and Quality of Delivery

  • Oversee the timely delivery of platform enhancements, updates, and integrations.
  • Set performance standards and ensure all projects adhere to established timelines.
  • Conduct quality checks on system implementations to ensure accuracy and stability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and adjust platform strategies based on evolving business requirements.

Key Skills

  • Strong organization, communication, problem-solving and analytical
    skills
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Ability to lead IT critical projects
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and strong technical knowledge
  • A positive attitude with a service delivery mentality
  • Ability to coach/mentor IT staff members to function as a highly
    effective team
  • Enthusiasm for investigating and implementing new software
    tools/applications (off the shelf and internally developed)
  • Ability to work independently and supervise a diverse staff

Key Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience managing insurance platforms (Policy, Claims, or Document Management systems).
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies
  • 5+ years' experience in Insurance processes & systems
  • MPL industry experience preferred
