The Senior Project Accountant works directly with the project teams to oversee the financial functions necessary for profitable completion of the assigned project(s). The Senior Project Accountant has direct responsibility for all AP, AR, and project compliance. Additionally, the Senior Project Accountant is responsible for developing and improving systems and processes related to financial reporting, budget tracking, and variance analysis. The Senior Project Accountant position will report directly to the Vice President of Accounting, or his designee, and assure integration of financial accounting and treasury management practices, as necessary, at the direction of the Vice President of Accounting or Division President. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's financial policies and procedures, including revenue recognition and payables processing.
- Work with the Vice President of Accounting and the Division President to set up internal control systems and develop and maintain proper policies for financial reporting.
- Review financial data monthly to ensure completeness of the data.
- Prepare all client invoices and establish a relationship with clients, to include timely collections of payment
- Understand and manage overhead costs
- Analyze and forecast project profitability, revenue, budgets, and margin.
- Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government contract accounting preferred (FAR and DFAR).
- Experience with government audits preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Capacity to handle pressure daily.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with CMIC preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 30 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
