Mechanic, Senior

The position also requires the fabrication and replacement of piping systems as well as the welding of carbon, stainless, aluminum and other steel alloys as needed.

This position works under a union contract but is not required to be a member of the union. This position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift from days to nights on a 36/48 hour weekly rotation. Every other weekend this position works on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

• Pipe fabrication and replacement (carbon, stainless, aluminum, and other alloys)
• Welding (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, plate fabrication)
• Mechanical repairs (pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, agitators, etc.)
• Electrical troubleshooting (control panels, motors, DCS systems, instrumentation)
• Tool operation (hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, machine tools)

• Strong mechanical aptitude (tested during selection)
• Ability to repair mechanical and electrical hardware
• Proficient in math and measuring for fabrication and adjustments
• Experience with industrial equipment (5+ years preferred, ideally in a chemical plant)
• Good communication and social skills
• High responsibility and task motivation
• 5+ year's experience with the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial equipment such as pumps, seals, motors, boilers, compressors, agitators, gear boxes and heat exchangers- preferably in a Chemical Plant environment.
