Job Description

The Vice President of Quality is a senior executive responsible for leading and directing the company's global quality strategy, ensuring product integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction across all operations. Reporting to the company VP/GM, this role encompasses oversight of both Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions, driving excellence in systems, processes, and culture. The VP of Quality will serve as the executive steward of AS9100 and NADCAP certifications, ensuring the organization consistently meets and exceeds aerospace industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Develop and execute a world-class quality vision and strategy aligned with the company's goals in safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor the QA and QC organizations, building a high-performance team culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Act as the primary executive interface for quality with customers, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies.
  • Oversee company-wide quality management systems (QMS), ensuring compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and continuously improve processes related to first article inspections, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), internal audits, and supplier quality assurance.
  • Drive robust configuration management, documentation control, and process discipline to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Oversee inspection, testing, and validation activities to ensure that all products meet engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Ensure effective utilization of statistical process control (SPC), measurement systems analysis (MSA), and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Establish and enforce standards for material review board (MRB) activities and nonconformance management.
  • Maintain and expand compliance with FAA, AS9100 and NADCAP certifications, serving as the executive lead during audits.
  • Ensure readiness for all external and customer audits, addressing findings with speed, transparency, and systemic improvements.
  • Stay ahead of evolving regulatory, defense, and commercial aerospace requirements, implementing proactive compliance strategies.
  • Implement Lean Six Sigma and Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies to drive process efficiency and product quality.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve on-time delivery, yield, and cost performance through robust quality practices.
  • Champion a culture of zero defects execution and customer-centric performance.
  • Improve key quality KPIs: First Pass Yield, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), Customer Escapes, and On-Time Delivery.
  • Reduce MRB backlog and cycle times.
  • Drive measurable improvement in employee engagement and organizational quality culture.
  • Participate in vendor negotiations to ensure quality requirements are being flowed to supply chain.
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
  • Other duties with the work as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality or related industrial, scientific, or business field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive quality leadership experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Deep expertise in AS9100, NADCAP, FAA, and DoD regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record in leading large quality organizations with both QA and QC responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, special processes, and supplier quality management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent preferred.

Annual Target Salary = $225,000.00

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
