Job Details

The Senior Automation Maintenance Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the maintenance and optimization of automated production systems and injection molding equipment. This position ensures high equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The supervisor leads a multi-disciplinary team across multiple shifts and drives strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency, equipment performance, and team development.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

- Supervise and develop a team of automation, molding, and equipment technicians across multiple shifts.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Facilitate daily huddles, recognize achievements, and ensure consistent communication across shifts.

Maintenance Strategy & Execution:

- Oversee all aspects of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance for automation and injection molding equipment.
- Ensure equipment is maintained to meet company standards and production goals with minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex machinery, including robotics, molding presses, and test equipment.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures, and documentation standards.

Process Optimization & Technical Projects:

- Lead initiatives to improve machine performance, reduce scrap, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Design and fabricate new fixtures and modify existing equipment to support evolving production needs.
- Manage key projects including equipment upgrades, process changes, and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on validations, qualifications, and protocol development.

Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, SOPs, and internal standards.
- Conduct safety reviews and implement improvements to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Ensure all equipment has proper safety guarding and is included in the calibration system.
- Maintain accurate records for equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and spare parts inventory.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

- Develop systems to monitor key performance indicators such as machine uptime, efficiency, and scrap rates.
- Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on maintenance performance and project status.

Qualifications:

- Extensive experience in automation and injection molding equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-shift technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting techniques, and equipment optimization.
- Familiarity with GMP, safety regulations, and calibration systems.
- Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills.
