The candidate for this position requires a strong Architecture and construction background with experience in healthcare facilities. Experience in design as a Project Architect and Field Observations of construction for technical / healthcare facilities will be highly valued.
Excellent organization, leadership, and communication skills for daily interactions at a large construction project are needed. The candidate will need to have numerous conversations with the CM, Structural and Architectural Subcontractors, Client, and the HDR Project Architect & design core team. The HDR team members will continue their involvement throughout the construction, start-up, and Cx. As such, the primary role of the Senior Architectural Construction Administrator is to maintain communications and the pulse of information flow to and from the HDR home office team.
It is expected that the Senior Architectural Construction Administrator will 'walk the site' daily, be versed in current submittals and RFIs as they are being processed, and relay pre-final information to those involved in submittals and RFIs to preview what is flowing from the design team back to the construction site.
HDR has entered into a contract to provide construction contract administration services for a Client in the Salt Lake City, UT area, and this person will coordinate communications between HDR team members and project leadership, and the Client and Construction team members at the construction site in the Salt Lake City area.
The candidate will be seated in the CM construction Trailers with the client representatives, HDR laptop, and CA iPad & PPE. HDR will coordinate high speed internet connection and minor/miscellaneous office supplies with the Owner and CM.
Additional common responsibilities include:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in laptops, and use of tablet / iPad computers, and familiarity with related tools and processes, including contractor's software such as BlueBeam, BIM360, Newforma, Cx Alloy and similar construction administration software.
- Proficiency Autodesk Revit and Prolog programs a plus.
- Preference is given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
- 7 years contract-related experience; advanced degree or contract certification program may substitute for years of experience
- Working to expert knowledge of contracting concepts and company and client requirements
- Professional, self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented with the flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, with minimal management oversight
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including complex MS Excel spreadsheets with formulas
- Excellent writing and people skills
- Strong math, analytical and organizational skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
