Job Description

The Defect Technician position requires accuracy and thoroughness while looking for ways to promote quality and improve yield. The applicant must be able to multitask at all times and be able to make quick decisions to contain OOC events and excursions in addition to supporting production targets and engineering defect requests. The position requires minimal supervision to operate all inspections tools, perform defect review and collect data for baseline control.

Shift: N2: Thursday - Saturday and everyother Wednesday from 530pm - 6am

This Job Is For You If
  • 1st line of defense for Defect Area OOC lots and excursions.
  • Recognize when an excursion happens and follow Defect OCAP to contain excursion; including, sending Defect Alert in a timely manner
  • Disposition OOC inline lots by following established BKM's and OCAP's
  • Manage all WIP through the defect area and help operators achieve defect production targets: Inline lots, defect requests and excursions.
  • Perform data gathering and analysis on lots showing high defectivity and work through the scrap determination process
  • Understand and react to complex SPC charts. Recognize trends and communicate issues to the proper modules. Document suggested chart changes using Defect systems
  • Proficient with defect management software (Data Suite & Klarity Defect), SPC GUI, Defect Request System, PLD system & Klarity ACE
  • Proficient with PROMIS. Ability to hold & release lots, skip lots without errors, relocate lots and set future defect holds
  • Classify defects with >95% accuracy
  • Create defect inspection recipes and SEM recipes: AIT, Altair, SEMVISION, SP1 and any other defect metrology tool
  • Support all Defect Request Activities: Approve/reject/update/complete defect requests. Generate defect engineering inspection recipes.
  • Create/Modify Procedures and specifications as needed to improve procedures or enhance training of operators.
  • Use CIP mindset to suggest quarterly goals for self, and execute such projects in a timely manner with written reports where needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to submit a job for Cross-sectional analysis

Job Requirements
  • AA degree or equivalent work experience. 4 year degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience is required.
  • Semiconductor Process Engineering experience is a plus.
  • Consistently demonstrate a professional attitude and possess good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail along with proven problem solving/troubleshooting skills required
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products and various OS platforms.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of SPC and how it is used in the manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to multitask with speed, efficiency and accuracy
