THE POSITION

Are you experienced in analyzing business processes and pinpointing opportunities for enhancement? We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Business Analyst 1 to join our vibrant team, where you will undertake various technical analysis tasks to maintain the integrity of the Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) Systems and their subsystems. Your role will involve collaborating with IT programming and business staff to implement system changes as requested by the DVS management team, ensuring that our systems operate effectively to meet operational requirements. If you are enthusiastic about learning and making a meaningful contribution to the Program Management Office (DVS PMO) Business Application Services Division.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in moderately complex analytical tasks related to the development, modification, and functionality of Driver Licensing and Motor Vehicle systems. Your responsibilities will include documenting process changes to enhance business operations, organizing and leading business meetings, drafting business requirement documents, and identifying essential business needs. Additionally, you will undertake various analytical duties to support and maintain the transition to electronic data processing across multiple applications. This involves creating testing plans and scripts for system enhancements, new projects, legislative changes, or defect resolutions to ensure that business requirements are fulfilled and systems operate effectively. You will also participate in the planning, execution, and assessment of testing activities, analyzing the outcomes of testing scripts and preparing reports that highlight any discrepancies or deviations from expected results. Your role will involve ensuring timely updates on the status and resolution of issues through daily meetings with your manager. You will act as the primary point of contact for business staff, assisting them in troubleshooting application and system-related problems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Required to work off-hours, including some weekends, for release support and issue resolution.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after successful completion of training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Dauphin. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
