Job Details

This position is responsible for leading the design and implementation of custom automated manufacturing equipment for the Global Manufacturing Supply Chain organization as part of the Automation Engineering department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation engineering, with specific experience in writing equipment specifications and developing standards for custom automated manufacturing equipment and working with third part machine builders and integrators. Medical device manufacturing experience is preferred and the position will support global projects. Essential Duties:

  • Act as project leader for automation projects within the Global Manufacturing Supply Chain organization

  • Design and develop custom automated manufacturing equipment, including the creation of equipment specifications and standards

  • Work with third-party automation integrators to design and build the specified equipment

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of manufacturing needs, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure equipment meets or exceeds expectations

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of equipment into existing production lines

  • Lead and oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment, ensuring that it meets all safety and regulatory requirements

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement in equipment design and performance, and implement solutions to increase efficiency and productivity

  • Provide technical support and training to production personnel on the use and maintenance of equipment

  • Support global transfer projects and coordinate with receiving sites to execute successfully

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, or relevant area of study or combination of equivalent experience and education - Required

  • 10-15 years' experience Project management, in a regulated environment ideally medical device - Required

  • Previous experience managing moderately complex engineering projects within a team-oriented environment - Required

  • Completion of formal project management training (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP and the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credentialing programs) - Preferred

Pay Transparency:

The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account, without limitation, the candidate's location, education, job-knowledge, skills, and experience in prior relevant roles. Incentives may also be provided as part of Haemonetics' employee compensation. For sales roles, employees will be eligible for sales incentive (i.e., commission) under the applicable plan terms. For non-sales roles, employees will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, the target amount of which varies based on the applicable role, to be governed by the applicable plan terms. Employees may also be eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive plan, with eligibility and target amount dependent on the role.

In addition to compensation, the Company offers a competitive suite of benefits to its employees, including without limitation, a 401(k) with up to a 6% employer match and no vesting period, an employee stock purchase plan, "flexible time off" for salaried employees and, for hourly employees, accrual of three to five weeks' vacation annually (based on tenure), accrual of up to 64 hours (annually) of paid sick time, paid and/or floating holidays, parental leave, short- and long-term disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and/or health and welfare benefits.
