Optum Behavioral Solutions, in partnership with the County of San Diego, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Clinical Administrative Coordinator (CAC) to support our Utilization Management (UM) Department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of clinical workflows and administrative processes that support behavioral health services across San Diego County. As a Senior CAC, you will provide advanced administrative support to both the UM department and the CAC sub-team. Your responsibilities will include managing the intake of provider authorization requests, coordinating admission and discharge notifications, and serving as a key liaison between hospitals, providers, and clinical staff. You will also handle incoming calls, respond to provider and member inquiries, and facilitate the referral and prior authorization processes. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple clinical sub-teams, including Inpatient, Crisis and Adult Residential, Outpatient, Long-Term Care (LTC), and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). You will play a vital role in supporting clinicians who focus on psychiatric and chemical dependency authorizations. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am - 6pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule. Primary Responsibilities:
