Job Summary:

Join the Colorado School of Public Health as an Education Program Coordinator (Research Services Intermediate Professional). This position is a key member of the school's Injury & Violence Prevention Center that will support the development, implementation, and expansion of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative (FIPI) educational programs.

FIPI coordinates, synergizes, and stimulates collaborative approaches to firearm injury prevention through the state and country. Its educational programs include the Firearm Injury Prevention Research in Nursing (FIPRN) Scholars Program, which prepares researchers from nursing and allied fields to advance innovative, community-engaged work in firearm injury prevention.

The Education Program Coordinator will serve as the administrative lead for the FIPRN program, along with other related educational initiatives as feasible. This role involves program promotion, curriculum support, event coordination, stakeholder communication, and program evaluation. The ideal candidate will bring 1) outstanding abilities in organization and communication, 2) interest and/or background in injury and violence prevention (particularly related to firearms), research, and interprofessional training and career development, and 3) the ability to navigate the challenges of communicating on controversial issues while respecting the broad views and lived experiences of impacted communities and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate program logistics including scheduling, materials preparation, venue booking, and catering.

  • Lead recruitment and enrollment processes, including application dissemination and inquiry response.

  • Draft and distribute communications to program participants and stakeholders.

  • Organize and facilitate virtual and in-person team meetings, including scheduling, calendar invites, and minute-taking.

  • Assist in the development of program materials such as website content, newsletters, and promotional materials.

  • Assist in collecting participant feedback and evaluating program effectiveness.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that reports to the FIPI Associate Director.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, medicine, social sciences, communications, education or a directly related field from an accredited institution

  • One (1) year of experience in an administrative support, event coordinator, or program evaluation role.

    • Substitution: An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in event planning or management

  • Comfort using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Google, Zoom, and web applications.

  • Research experience

  • Comfort using Canvas software

  • Experience working in adult education

  • Knowledge of firearm injury prevention programming or research

  • Excellent oral communication skills

  • Experience working with a team of professionals

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Salary Range:

The starting target salary for this position has been established as $55,975 - $63,000.

The above salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
