Procore's People Team is looking for a Director of People Relations to join our team and further strengthen our strong culture. In this role, you will build and maintain a comprehensive view of Procore's employee relations landscape and implement and manage an integrated approach to employee relations, including building awareness, training, policy and process alignment, and direct issue management. The primary mission of the role is to build and implement scalable solutions to help employees and managers throughout multiple U.S. and international locations while navigating workplace situations to reach consistent, equitable, and effective outcomes. This is an opportunity for someone who is creative, loves tough challenges and likes to build.

You will be a thought partner and report to the Vice President of People Partners and work closely with the People Team and Legal Team. The role is ideally located in Austin, TX or Denver, CO but can be remote. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What You'll Do:

  • Reimagine our current philosophy and approach to employee relations

  • Build employee relations operating model, systems, processes and playbooks to align to new future state

  • Serve as the primary investigator for complex employee relations matters; serve as a point of contact for handbook and PPL policy interpretations and implementation

  • Implement and develop a global investigation process and playbook and provide investigatory support for employment litigation

  • Partner with PPL leadership on the development and revision of policies, including managing annual handbook/policy revisions to comply with changing legislation and creating handbooks for new locations

  • Support and mentor team with regard to investigations, employee conflicts, performance management processes, disciplinary counseling, corrective actions, involuntary exits, and other employee-related matters to successful resolution

  • Proactively identify and monitor risks within employee relations investigations, and provide guidance on workable risk mitigation solutions to the business

  • Support employee relations workstream efforts on all merger and acquisition deals, including due diligence, integration planning, and integration execution

  • Partner closely with People team stakeholders to design and implement scalable solutions that build management and awareness of (i) the compliance and employee relations environment in all locations and (ii) employee relations techniques, corrective action, and performance management best practices

  • Design and manage the employee relations case management system to review and track case intake and progress. This might also involve a reconfiguration of our current system or exploring a new system

  • Identify trends and themes with systematic improvement recommendations for PPL, managers, and executive leadership

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required

  • 15+ years of experience in employee relations gained, ideally, at a fast paced technology company

  • JD degree with experience in employment law/litigation is a plus

  • Proven success building and scaling an employee relations function - knows what great looks like!

  • Subject matter expert on all things employee relations with expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, complex investigations, performance management, and more

  • Proven ability to attract, develop and mentor talent

  • Strong team player with a track record of building and maintaining relationships across multiple senior stakeholders

  • Independent, resourceful problem-solver-when you encounter a problem, you step back and look for solutions, leveraging the information and people around you to make the best decision, including:

    • Operating with a sense of urgency/a self-starter who thinks ahead

    • Leveraging knowledge of the business to develop solutions balancing business needs with organizational risk

    • Synthesizing complex or diverse information to identify trends and develop proactive solutions to minimize risks to the business

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to both influence and actively listen

  • Demonstrate excellent discretion, professionalism, confidentiality, and judgment paired with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

QualificationsAdditional Information

Base Pay Range $160,000 - $220,000. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
