OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

Coordinates purchase of equipment, supplies, and other materials for assigned departments. Responsibilities involving conducting price reviews, placing orders, and maintaining inventories and associated records.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Verifies accuracy of orders, examines incoming items for damage, documents items received, and maintains associated records. Investigates past due and rush orders.
  2. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injuryaccident to Manager.
  3. Purchases materials for inventory, non-stock items, and services for Northside Hospital locations.
  4. Assure expedition of all rush orders.
  5. Reviews purchase orders. Calls, faxes, and sends EDI's to appropriate vendors.
  6. Monitors purchase orders to make sure orders have transmitted successfully.
  7. Confirms expected shipment dates and pricing with vendors. Updating the purchasing system accordingly.
  8. Review and resolve open orders.
  9. Monitor price changes and communicate with Supervisor/Manager as necessary.
  10. Processes returns, exchanges, and repairs for all departments.
  11. Assists personnel in the selection and procurement of new supply items.
  1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia and three (3) years Pharmacy Technician experience.
  2. Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam recognized by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, coworkers, and others as necessary.
  4. Knowledge and skill in the operation of personal computers and office equipment.
