The role of this position is to carry out awarded sponsor contracts for individual clinical trials and to reconcile all financial activity for studies conducted by the Northside Hospital Research Program. This individual will work closely with the Accounting and Finance Departments to support the processing, accounting and financial reporting aspects for research projects. This role will also serve as the point of contact for post-award financial administration issues related to clinical research projects and services. This individual will be a resource to research administration, Investigators and the research project team to provide status updates on research project accounts, the sponsor invoicing process, as well as manage research project close-out and reconciliation efforts.

REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with at least one (1) year of relevant research experience or equivalency required.

a. An applicable related field may be business administration, healthcare administration or experience as a Research Coordinator or Clinical Research Associate with financial experience.

2. A thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles, as well as demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills also required.

3. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Access and Power Point.

4. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

5. Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to policies and procedures

6. Excellent organizational skills, effective follow-through and commitment to excellence

7. Knowledge about clinical research administration, Good Clinical Practices, and federal grants.

PREFERRED:
1. Experience in a healthcare or community hospital setting strongly preferred

2. Effective professional communication skills; ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner

3. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with personnel at all levels to gather information, communicate compliance requirements and handle complex issues within an often-sensitive political environment

4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

5. Must be flexible and adaptable, conditions and environment are unpredictable and change frequently
