JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Penn State Wilkes-Barre is seeking applicants for the part-time Athletic/Recreation Services Support position. This position provides support, coordination, facilitation, and/or leadership for athletic and recreational activities and facilities-including intramural sports programs. Responsibilities may include delivering instruction for fitness classes and wellness programming; provide a robust intramural program offering, may provide health and wellness initiatives. SAMPLE WORK ACTIVITIES: Support the daily operations of athletic/recreational facilities and/or activities Enforce rules and regulations of athletic/recreational facilities and/or activities Monitor areas such as fitness centers, climbing walls, swimming areas, and intramural sports venues Track facility and equipment usage; document and report maintenance problems, unusual conditions, and damages to the supervisor Adhere to safe and appropriate use of all equipment and modalities within established guidelines Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan activities accordingly, given the available equipment or facilities Provide facilitation, leadership, and assessment for recreational activities, including intramural sports leagues and tournaments, private lessons, wellness courses, and clinics Assist in the organization, scheduling, and promotion of intramural sports programs BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
