Your Opportunity:Taylor is seeking a Temporary Estimating Representative who is responsible for leading the estimating process for complex projects. This role involves preparing comprehensive and competitive cost estimates, providing strategic guidance to junior staff, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of estimating methodologies, industry standards, and best practices.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for large and complex projects, including materials, labor, and overhead.

  • Meet lead time requirements KPI's while maintaining status updates.

  • Develop and/or maintain standards of operation (SOPs) in conjunction with the Director of Estimating, General Manager, Estimating Manager, and Production Manager to accomplish assigned goals effectively.

  • Ensure standard metrics are in place, monitored, achieved and reported.

  • Review project specifications, blueprints, and contracts to develop accurate estimates that meet client requirements.

  • Lead estimating efforts for complex and large dollars quotes to, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

  • Mentor and train junior estimating staff, providing guidance on estimating practices and software usage.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy of estimates.

  • Analyze historical data and market trends to refine estimating methodologies and improve overall accuracy.

  • Prepare and present estimates for management and clients, articulating the rationale behind pricing decisions.

  • Participate in bid reviews and project kickoff meetings to provide insight into estimating processes and strategies.

  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess estimating performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Stay current with industry developments, materials, and techniques to enhance estimating practices and competitive positioning.

You Must Have:

  • High School education or above. Typically requires a minimum of 5 plus years of related / relevant experience in position or specialization.

  • Proficient in estimating software and tools, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $30.00 - 31.00. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employees.
