Overview

As a Senior Business Analyst on the Credit Risk Processes and Controls team in Lending, you are responsible for strategy and planning to align business product teams with analytics teams, supporting the credit union's mission and goals. In this role you will use your analytical, project management, and communication skills to drive analyses and gather, organize and review data to identify internal and external strategic issues and opportunities affecting growth and profitability of the organization. You work under minimal supervision and use complete understanding of business needs and objectives to support projects that have impact on the achievement of operational goals for credit risk. You will partner with key stakeholders to present findings and recommendations to various audiences to include technical, non-technical, key partners and executives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple analytics programs and initiatives through full project lifecycle using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies-from planning and design through testing, implementation, and delivery -ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and deliverables
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and changes by collaborating with business and analytics teams to advise development teams, data stewards, and other project stakeholders to resolve defects, communicate impacts, and maintain stakeholder alignment through structured updates and expectation-setting to maintain project momentum and strategic alignment
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements for data and analytics teams, and communicate complex quantitative analyses in simple, structured narratives for non-technical business stakeholders
  • Evaluate business data and conduct analyses and reporting to identify challenges and opportunities; interpret solutions to complex business problems that use quantitative analysis methodology to perform data, cost and benefit, and/or process measurement analysis
  • Partner across business, data, and analytics teams to facilitate developing advanced statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict future business performance and inform strategic decision-making
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities
  • Assess requirements for internal business processes, ensuring integration across teams and business units and compatibility with organizational strategic goals
  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of company's internal operations to develop forward-looking focus for business

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in consulting, business and operational strategy, planning and analysis, including demonstrated experience leading and executing projects or programs through full lifecycle phases
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, including storytelling, influencing, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of business area/specialization
  • Advanced knowledge of data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis and operations research
  • Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    Advanced problem resolution skills including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues
  • Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills
  • Advanced project management skill to lead projects and/or initiatives of medium to large scope to include working effectively with diverse internal and external contacts
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or Physical Sciences

Desired Qualification(s)

  • Desired - Master's Degree in Business Administration, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or Physical Sciences
  • Desired - SAFe, Scrum, or PMP certification
