Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Amherst, NY. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Support security, safety, and protection efforts for the facility, guests, visitors, members, and properties.
  • Monitor, report, and respond with Physical Security initiatives at the locations of the main campus, affiliate, and Medicare Information Center.
  • Oversight of access controls, alarms, CCTV, and accurate and timely notification of events impacting physical security and facilities to the appropriate team member.
  • Maintains confidentiality and uses only the minimum amount of protected health information (PHI) necessary to accomplish job-related responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $18.50/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week (8:30 am to 5 pm + Saturdays).

Length: Contract (3 months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a security guard force, including alarm systems.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Possession and maintenance of a current active NYS Guard License is needed.
  • Understanding municipal security and emergency response protocols, including basic knowledge of town, county, and state laws.
  • Working knowledge of security cameras, building alarm systems, and access controls.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Conflict management skills, with the ability to identify, research, and resolve issues or concerns.
  • Solid team player who can work with/support management and varied departments.
  • Time management skills, with the ability to work in a self-directed manner.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills to generate reports and logs.
  • Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate operating policies and procedures in user-friendly and non-technical language directly to all levels of the company and the general public.
  • Must be able to read and understand all operating policies, procedures, and instructions.

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.

  • Local travel may be necessary.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies outside regular business hours as necessary.
  • Stand, walk, or run on various surfaces for emergency response.
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment with some physical demands such as: sitting for long periods of time (6-8 hours per day) bending, stretching, lifting, typing, speaking, hearing, handling, fingering, lifting to 5 lbs., near acuity/clarity with or without correction, subject to inside environmental conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes, subject to moderate noise, and normal exposure to everyday risks and discomfort needing common safety precautions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly needed to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email, and other electronic means, handle various types of media and equipment, and visually or otherwise identify, observe, and assess.
  • Responsibilities occasionally may need an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening hours to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to telecommute (work remotely off-campus) as necessary, regularly, or whenever necessary to continue business operations.
