This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, Oregon. The expectation is for employees to be in-office 3 days or more per week, depending on business need. This in-office expectation is subject to change at business discretion.

The Sourcing Specialist II collect information to assist with full-service evaluations of prospective manufacturing sites. Assists with establishing manufacturing schedules and quality and cost objectives. Follows company policies, procedures, and systems necessary for an efficient operation while meeting company objectives and goals. Builds positive business relationships with departments involved in apparel design and manufacturing, ensuring a clear understanding of each department's goals and objectives and incorporating those goals into the sourcing process.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Maintains daily contact with departments and sourcing offices responsible for procuring product. Troubleshoots and quickly responds and resolves problems, issues, and concerns.
  • Participates as a team member in establishing a working production calendar based on business needs and interdepartmental requirements.
  • Negotiates prices and coordinates production placement for overseas offices on a seasonal basis.
  • Completes detailed working documents that contain necessary information for determining product placement from season to season.
  • Reviews weekly the production status by the liaison office.
  • Works closely with in-house customs broker to stay abreast of current customs laws and rulings in order to conduct business within legal standards set by U.S. customs. Monitors quota levels in countries where CSC produces goods in order to maintain production and deliveries.

YOU ARE

  • General proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.
  • Knowledge of U.S. government duties and quotas as they apply to price, design, and quality at CSC
  • Knowledge of offshore sourcing specifically related to the apparel production industry
  • Working knowledge of garment manufacturing, capacity planning, factory evaluation techniques and vendor compliance requirements
  • Requires a well developed ability to read, write, and speak English, in relation to topics of a highly complex or technical nature
  • Mental ability required to conduct complex business operations, manage interpersonal interactions of a highly complex and critical nature, develop and cultivate personal and professional relationships within and outside the company
  • Ability to work well with individuals of different countries and cultures
  • Effectively deal with work and time pressures in the efficient and effective accomplishment of job requirement
  • Also must be able to trouble shoot, solve problems of an unusual and complex nature, and make decisions and operate independently with discretion

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience related to sourcing preferred
