Overview

TRC is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Permitting, Planning and Licensing team in the West Allis, WI office location.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct biological field surveys which may include wetland/waterbody delineations; habitat, or wildlife and plant species-specific surveys; conduct breeding bird and raptor surveys.
  • Prepare wetland delineation reports and threatened and endangered species reports; obtain jurisdictional determinations.
  • Assist with Permit Applications for USACE Section 10/404 and state permit applications, as needed.
  • Prepare listed species reports and consultation packages to resource agencies.
  • Assist with technical support in responding to requests for proposals.
  • The position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week with potential for overtime hours depending on the project and workload.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field, and post-degree experience.
  • Wetland Delineation experience is required.
  • Listed species habitat assessment experience is required.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical communication skills are mandatory, along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules.
  • The candidate must have a strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. The ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials is also required.
  • The candidate must be able to work in the field throughout the Midwest, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Iowa.
  • The position will require the ability to travel for 1 week and up to 2 weeks at a time, working in the field for up to 8-10 hours per day, carrying field materials up to 20 lbs in varying weather conditions over uneven terrain.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
