ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Consumer Loan Documentation, Lead is responsible for reviewing loan documents prepared by the Loan Documentation Team to ensure adequate protection regarding collateral perfection, internal policies and regulatory requirements. This position will maintain a client focus and will partner with credit team members to deliver a superior client experience and coordinate on-time loan closings. The person in this position will be self-motivated and will be one of the main contacts for escalation or complexity in the loan operations area. Position will also be the main contacts for mentorship, training, testing and escalations for complex transactions.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:



  • Ensure that consumer loan documents are accurately prepared, according to approvals, within service level agreements.
  • Research requests and handle time sensitive or technically complex issues to provide guidance to team and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Provide and utilize team reporting to identify areas of improvement for success, monitor team performance and set expectations.
  • Create, update, maintain and train Consumer Loan Documentation processes and procedures.
  • Participate in projects and work with internal partners to create new systems, enhance current systems, or test systems.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and collaborate with internal partners on documentation, systems, processes, policy, compliance, and regulations related to consumer lending.
  • Ability to resolve problems with minimal guidance and make general operational escalation decisions.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of team members and demonstrate enhanced knowledge of loan requirements and systems.
  • Actively pursue continuing education, reading, and self-development to enhance skills. Complete regulation, compliance and additional training as assigned.
  • Perform secondary review on a sample of Laser Pro packages prepared by other documentation specialists for accuracy to approval and to identify any typos or discrepancies.


        WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:



        • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience in the financial industry.
        • Minimum of 5+ years related experience.
        • Thorough knowledge of consumer lending, bank operations and regulatory requirements.
        • Excellent decision making, problem solving and leadership skills.
        • High level of commitment to accuracy and detail.
        • Effective written and verbal communication and client service skills.
        • Capacity to manage, prioritize and stay organized while working with high volume, time sensitive transactions and tasks.
        • Self-motivated and eager to take on new challenges.

        WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office utilizing proper ergonomic safeguards when doing so. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift or move supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
