SHIFT: Day (United States of America)A Brief Overview The Inpatient Diabetes Social Worker position supports patients who are admitted with a new onset of Type 1 Diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes. The unit relies heavily on teamwork and communication, and each member is held accountable for their role. The SW is expected to attend a pre-round huddle and rounds daily. Rounds are an important aspect of the unit's culture. In addition to Type 1 new onset patients, the unit also cares for patients with a primary diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes as well as Type 1 patients admitted for complications linked to their diagnosis. This includes patients who report to the Emergency Department in DKA. Patients with repeat DKA admissions will need to be connected to their county's Children and Youth Services office.The Inpatient Diabetes Social Worker also supports Gen Peds patients on 5S and works closely with the outpatient Diabetes SW Team and inpatient Hyperinsulinism SW. SALARY RANGE: $67,500.00 - $86,060.00 AnnuallySalary ranges are shown for full-time jobs.
