About the Role

We're looking for a Hydrogeologist to join our team of dedicated professionals in our Seattle office. We are working on important environmental, transportation, solid waste, and water quality projects and are proud to have an established relationship with a range of clients, providing us the opportunity to support the communities in which we live and work. You will have flexibility to work remotely and come into the office for mentorship, project, and team collaboration. Office collaboration is a minimum of one day per week when not working in the field. This position requires overnight travel for field work throughout the Pacific Northwest, predominantly within the state of Washington.

You Will:

  • Conduct field investigations, including:
    • Site reconnaissance activities
    • Environmental drilling and construction oversight
    • Environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, air/gas, surface water, etc.) and documentation
    • Follow sampling and analysis plans / health and safety plans
  • Prepare technical documentation, including:
    • Well logs and tabulating field/analytical data.Assist with preparation of site investigation summary reports, and work plans
    • Help with Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies and Hydrogeologic Assessments
    • Assist with quarterly groundwater monitoring reports
  • Travel up to 50% per month to support field investigations and well construction observation, with periods of less frequent travel
  • Occasional periods of overtime related to field work
  • Work towards becoming a Licensed Geologist (LG), or hydrogeologist (LHG) in Washington State

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of consulting experience and/or an equivalent of education and relevant work experience
  • Academic coursework or professional experience in environmental geology and hydrogeology
  • Proficiency with field sampling methods and equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting field equipment issues
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory analytical data (inorganic/organic chemistry)
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Training
  • Proficiency working in a team environment on multiple concurrent projects
  • Efficiency with time management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Geologist in Training, First Aid, and CPR, and U7 UST Site Assessor
  • Experienced in drilling and construction observation
  • Familiarity with performing data validation/tabulation
  • Knowledge of regulations and technical tools including:
    • Solid Waste Regulations (WAC 173-304, -350 and -351),
    • Model Toxics Control Act (WAC 173-340)
    • ASTM E1527-21 Phase I ESAs;
    • GIS, R, MODFLOW, Grapher, and Sanitas Software
  • Experience researching well logs and developing hydrogeologic cross sections
  • Professional/societal memberships (GSA, AEG, SWANA, local geology club, etc.)

Compensation Information: Hourly compensation for this position is in the range of $36.05-$40.50 per hour ($75,000 to $84,240 annually) with time and a half compensation for hours worked over 40 hours per week.

Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and role. As employee-owners, we are eligible for performance-based bonuses and our salaries are reviewed annually. We value transparency and look forward to discussing our compensation structure.
