About the Role:

The Manager I, MES Project Management, is a general manager of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) system used by Boston Scientific to manage the Design History Record (DHR). This role is responsible for leading a team that strives to create error free models, minimizing impact of MES production downtime, and is customer focused providing support within a 24/7 work environment.

Key Partnerships/Collaboration:

Collaborate with global MES teams to submit and test application and report improvements, participate in stakeholder meetings, and share best practices across sites. Support acquisitions and cross-site modeling efforts, prioritizing requests based on site needs. Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, training, and system optimization.

Work Mode: At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office in Maple Grove, MN at least three days per week.

Responsibilities will Include:



  • People Leadership: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that promotes continuous learning, accountability, and innovation. Provide mentorship and guidance to MES technical contributors, support professional development, and ensure alignment with organizational values. Championing a positive workplace culture by encouraging cross-functional communication, recognizing contributions, and drive engagement across local and global teams.
  • System Modeling: MES Modelers are responsible for configuring and maintaining MES systems in both production and non-production environments to support new products and updates to existing processes. They collaborate with line teams and integration partners to develop effective solutions and test models. The team provides support for MES applications and reporting, using tools like UFT and Automation Anywhere to build efficient, error-resistant models. They also manage scheduled reports through Business Objects, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and work closely with manufacturing, quality, and equipment engineering teams. Additionally, they serve as a resource for questions related to MES data elements.
  • User support structure: Oversee and manage MES support operations, including user setup, issue resolution, and hardware integration. Ensure seamless data flow between MES, SAP, TRS, and BMRAM by monitoring interfaces and resolving errors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production-related SAP issues, optimize process plans and materials, and implement continuous improvements. Provide technical support for MES-related hardware (e.g., mini-PCs, printers, monitors) and coordinate with training teams to enhance system usability and reduce recurring issues through root cause analysis and system modeling.



Required Experience:



  • 3-5 years engineering or operations experience (manufacturing, process development or related).
  • 4-year degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in engineering or a technical field
  • Strong organization and execution skills will be required in a fast pace working environment.
  • Ability to travel on a limited as needed basis (<5% annually)
  • Basic understanding of SAP (production orders, routers, bill of materials), MES models, Windchill, and manufacturing areas. Prefer knowledge of equipment interfacing messaging

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
