National Water Tunnel Engineering Director

STV currently has an opening in our New York, NY office (also available to work remotely) for a National Water Tunnel Engineering Director to join our firm.

Responsibilities:

• Work with STV leadership to increase STV's water tunnel capabilities as a member of STV's Geotechnical, Underground Structures and Tunneling National Practice

• Provide a combination of business development, client relationship management and project delivery work

• Identify and participate in the pursuit of underground and water tunnel project opportunities and growth-related initiatives in conjunction with local and national marketing and business leaders within STV.

• Participate in marketing and business development efforts, including client outreach, proposal writing and participating in business development and marketing events and activities.

• Help identify, attract, and participate in recruiting tunneling and geotechnical staff

• Participate in the establishment and development of teaming relationships with other firms

• Be part of go/no-go team reviews and provide technical oversight of proposal preparation.

• Provide technical oversight, recommend design concepts, solutions, and methodologies

• Lead, manage, and deliver water tunnels and underground engineering services on projects including geotechnical and tunneling engineering

Qualifications:

• Minimum B.S. Degree in Civil engineering. Master's degree in civil engineering, tunneling or geotechnical engineering preferred.

• Minimum of 25 years of tunnel and underground related experience

• Professional registration in at least one state and willingness to register in other states, if needed

• Thoroughly knowledgeable of geotechnical and tunnel design and construction, including geotechnical engineering, and tunneling methods and techniques.

• Membership with relevant professional organizations and active participation in national tunneling and/or geotechnical associations

• Publications in technical journals and conferences and seminars

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Strategic thinker, with demonstrated collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and gain the support of others.

• Experience and proven track record winning and delivering a wide range of project types and sizes with public and private clients
