Overview

VTG is seeking a talented and experienced AWS System Administrator / Cloud Engineer to serve as an integrator between business needs and technical solutions. Must be able to work creatively and efficiently to solve difficult technical problems.


What will you do?

  • The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, innovative, cloud engineer to join in and contribute to a team environment.

  • The candidate will be part of a team that supports the cloud infrastructure for an enterprise environment.

  • This position requires a broad knowledge of system administration, knowledge of automation technologies, and scripting.

  • This position also requires a knowledge of security and accreditation practices and procedures the ability to work with several enterprise resources and teams in the operation of an enterprise digitization infrastructure.


Do you have what it takes?

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have hands-on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment.
  • Experience patching and maintaining system's databases, to include RDS, MySQL, and Oracle
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and solving technical problems
  • Knowledge of Federated Identity, RBAC, authentication & authorization solution, etc.
  • Understanding of secure-cloud configuration, (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud-security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups) and Access Control (IAM).
  • Experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Experience with security, such as NGFW, WAF, SIEM, endpoint security.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.
  • Experience using a scripting language.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include: installing, starting, and stopping background processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Hyper-V, or VMWare.
