Job Summary

Yarde Metals is looking for wrapper to join our Operations Team in Southington, CT. A material wrapper constructs standard and non-standard boxes, crates, skids and pallets to ship finished products to our customers.

Responsibilities

SAFETY FIRST!
Inspect material for physical damage or defects prior to packaging.
Select appropriate packaging materials to protect material from being damaged in transit.
Construct skids, boxes, crates, and pallets.
Measure materials using tape measure and other measuring devices.
Operate banding and nail guns.
Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Scan and stage orders in appropriate shipping and loading zones.
Monitor linear footage on wood used to package export orders.
Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

***This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position: requires operating heavy machinery.***

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Ability to read and understand English to follow work instructions.
History of working safely and productively.
Forklift operation experience strongly preferred.
Basic math skills required to convert decimals and fractions and to accurately use and read tape measures and calipers.
Dependable, punctual, and works well with others.
Able to pass background check, drug screen, physical, meet physical requirements of the position.
Willingness to work required overtime.
