JOB INFORMATION

Performs professional accounting functions using generally accepted accounting principles in areas including budgets, financial, taxation, property, gas, energy trading, and/or compliance. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
* Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Use best practices and knowledge of functional accounting principles and business operations to ensure completeness, accuracy, and usefulness of records. * Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. * Lead in identifying the appropriate recording and reporting a work method that achieves department and company objectives. * Benchmark practices against standards and competitors. * Prepare specialized reports/statements/reconciliations. * Technical input is used in developing accounting policies and practices. * Obtain information from and coordinate the flow of information with other departments to resolve complex accounting problems. * Handle most accounting problems with minimum assistance in the appropriate area of specialization (budgets, financial, taxation, property, gas, energy trading, or compliance). * Interact with auditors on various matters, specifically, preparation of audit schedules and reviews. * Analyze data, prepare journal entries and assist in the preparation of various accounting schedules, reports, filings, returns and/or statements on a timely basis. * Perform and document internal controls to comply with federal, state, and local laws and rulings, (Sarbanes-Oxley Act, SEC), internal processes and Company policies. * Make recommendations to assist the Company or department in making decisions regarding present, future, and potential costs. * All other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelors Degree in Finance or other business-related degree with 12 hours of Accounting, and 5 years directly related experience; or * Bachelors Degree in Accounting and 5 years directly related experience. WORKING CONDITIONS

* In depth knowledge and experience in Accounting and of the supported business. * Ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex accounting problems. * Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions. * Strong attention to detail. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Strong knowledge in Microsoft applications and other related software. (Excel, SAP). * Strong communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) with ability to communicate with all levels in the organization and outside professionals. * CPA or a candidate pursuing a CPA.
