Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM EST

Salary Grade: $78,280K - $89,610K

Position Overview:

The Manager, Strategic Planning is responsible driving for the successful implementation of impactful, cross-functional projects and initiatives derived from the OKRs and KPIs of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Line. The Manager, Strategic Planning will be a key point of contact for all individuals in 988 when it comes to navigating and reporting on OKRs and Key Results, and will act as a project manager for a number of 988 projects at any given time, providing consistent and detailed updates, risk elevation, and blocker management to high level vibrant leaders to ensure the successful completion of organizational objectives. The manager will work in deep partnership with Vibrant teams across 988 and shared services verticals, external contractors and partners to ensure successful project delivery and OKR/KPI adherence.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The Manager, Strategic Planning, is a key member of the Vibrant 988 team. You will collaborate with leaders and stakeholders across the 988, Vibrant and SAMHSA teams to drive operational success and excellence within the organizations OKR framework. You will collaborate and build relationships with team members at all levels and create structures and systems to support teams in successfully meeting their objectives. A strategic thinking and proactive problem solver, you wear many hats and may act as a project manager, strategy consultant or detail-oriented implementer depending on the situation's needs. You are comfortable raising issues and suggesting solutions with leaders at all levels.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Design and lead grant deliverable tracking and adoption efforts with teams across 988, Vibrant and SAMHSA in order to better address and elevate risks, blockers and issues with Vibrant grant funded work in deep collaboration with grants management
  • Organize and draft goals, objectives and ideas generated with Vibrant teams, and develop strategies to align those with Vibrant's organizational OKR structure as well as SAMHSA grant requirements
  • Highlight grant deliverables at risk or off track and develop recommendations and solutions with OKR Liaisons and Teams to minimize disruption to project timelines and outcomes
  • Serve as a project manager for a number of complex, cross-functional projects each quarter, requiring deep collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Review requests for project management and contribute to the building of feasibility studies and plans related to implementation
  • Make recommendations to high level Vibrant leaders around project feasibility, timeline, capacity and constraints, adherence to grant deliverable goals and impact to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Line network
  • Manage recurring cadence of meetings to report out team grant deliverable and project status and drive progress
  • Develops presentations to update executive and senior leadership on project and OKR status in collaboration with the AVP of Strategy
  • Collaborate deeply with other Vibrant teams to identify optimizations and efficiencies for SAMHSA grant development, reporting, and project management processes

  • Identifies multi-faceted problems affecting achievement of individual goals and provides solutions.
  • Decisions have minor organizational impact that may require consultation with internal and external stakeholders regarding issues, possible solutions and implementation of alternatives.
  • Analyzes and interprets issues, realigns responsibilities, commits resources and proposes alternative solutions.
  • Implements solutions for minor projects after approval; held accountable if no action is taken.


Scope of Responsibility/Accountability:


  • Manages programs/projects, creates and implements work plans and objectives.
  • Monitors and evaluates interim results and develops contingency plans if objectives are off track.
  • Performance is reviewed by director level and above.
  • Managing/Directing Work:
  • Interprets standards, communicates constructive feedback and guides others in developing their capacity to perform more effectively.
  • Participates in planning and implementing small- scale work activities and contributes to evaluation of results for assigned objectives.
  • Manages their own task list with minimal supervision.


Required Qualifications:


  • Requires a Bachelor's degree.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience performing similar responsibilities
  • With a Master's degree, three or more years of experience will be accepted.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

  • PMP Certification
