Position Overview

The Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) will perform a wide variety of administrative and operational duties to include compliance of ICD 705 standards for construction, management and operation of a SCIF. This position will enforce all aspects of SCI and Industrial Security Program requirements as well as company policies and procedures.

Position located onsite at Annapolis Junction, MD.



Responsibilities

    Accountable for all day-to-day onsite security operations as the SSO and SCIF Manager.
  • Assure compliance with all ICD 705 standards for construction and management of a SCIF.
  • Prepares and maintains SCIF accreditation documentation.
  • Performs multiple disciplines within security to include (but not limited to): personnel security for all access levels, security clearance activities, physical security of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) including alarm responses, document control, visitor control, providing access briefings, completing/submitting access paperwork, conducting annual security audits to ensure compliance, and government directive implementation.
  • Routinely interact with both internal and external customers in support of program-related activities.
  • Investigates security violations and submits reports.
  • Serves as Alternate COMSEC Custodian.
  • Works closely with the CESI Security Manager to support all aspects of corporate security.
  • Must be able to respond to alarms and emergencies within one hour. This includes after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Core hours are M-F; 8 am - 5 pm.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Experience/Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial security experience as a contractor in the DoD and IC community with a successful track record of managing clearance processing and secure facilities up to the TS/SCI level.
  • Possess a high level of understanding and previous application of the ICD-705 Technical Specifications, to include, but not limited to; intrusion detection systems, access control devices, TEMPEST requirements, drawings/specifications, etc. for DoD and IC customers.
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated application of the U.S. Government security standards of NISPOM DoD 5220.22-M, Intelligence Community Directives, Security Executive Agent Directives, DoD SAP Security
  • Experience with the acquisition and management of classified defense network circuit endpoints.
  • Ability to work as a team player but also independently to identify, assess, & resolve unique security situations with innovative solutions geared to facilitate contract performance within the bounds of security requirements.
  • Investigates security violations and submit reports
  • SSO/CSSO certification course or equivalent
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or Level III certification or ability to achieve certification within 6 months of start of employment.


Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • COMSEC Custodian Certification
  • Professional Security Certification such as ISP or SPeD certifications (SFPC, etc.)


Special Requirements/Security Clearance

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status and a TS/SCI security clearance and ability to successfully pass a CI polygraph if requested by customer.

Occasional travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Salary Range

Based on the roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $120,000 - $155,000.

The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. When extending an offer, CESI also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level, and market conditions. In addition, CESI provides an extensive selection of benefits and offerings to our employees.
