Summary:
The operation of CNC trimming consists of trimming rubber packings to a specification's sheet requirements which hold very tight tolerances. Operators will cut rubber packings to specified dimensions, perform product inspections and precise measurements using a multitude of different measuring devices from calipers, drop gauges and PI tape. Loading, creating, and adjusting programs and tools is necessary to meet the required customer specifications.
* (1) first shift position and (1) second shift position open. Training may occur on the first shift. Shift premium for second shift. This is a union position.
This position will report to the Shift Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC Trimmer machine safely, accurately, and efficiently using Work Instructions.
- Load programs on machine, make necessary adjustments and trimmer calibrations
- Read, understand and follow job specific Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Responsible for completing daily production logs, hourly loss reports, and product tracking in system
- Setting up and processing of all rubber packing seals and A-Lips
- Accurately measure with PI Tape, Calipers, and Drop Gauges.
- Wear required PPE: hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes. Other areas may also have job-related PPE such as gloves and/or sleeves and will be provided.
- Maintain proper daily maintenance and housekeeping of machines using 'Five S' Lean concepts - sort, set in order, shine, standardize.
- Ability to Travel for 2 weeks at a time to Salt Lake City for initial training is a plus.

Education and Experience:
- School diploma/GED equivalent preferred; specialized training or certification a plus
- Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in the common language (English)
- Basic Computer and Math skills required.
- Previous experience in set up and operation of CNC machines beneficial
Physical Requirements:
- Constant movement and standing for the duration of the shift.
- Able to sit, walk, bend, reach & pull, lift or carry up to 40 lbs.
- Able to use repetitive motion in hands, arms, and wrists
- Exposure to factory work environment
- Good visual and hearing acuity
