What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Stamping maintenance associate manager to lead a team responsible for stamping operations within the Semi Operations team. This role will involve leading a team of maintenance technicians and supervisors to maintain and improve the efficiency, reliability, and safety of stamping equipment and tooling within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include developing and executing preventative maintenance programs, optimizing maintenance processes using Lean principles, overseeing repairs, managing team performance, ensuring compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues.


What You'll Do
  • Recruit, train, develop, and manage a team of maintenance technicians and supervisors
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for stamping dies and equipment to minimize down time and maximize performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles (such as 5S and material flow optimization,) data analysis and root cause methodologies
  • Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to address issues impacting part quality, efficiency, and equipment performance
  • Set and monitor departmental KPIs, such as line efficiencies, labor costs, and equipment availability
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Focus: Responsibilities include ensuring team safety training, documenting EHS incidents, proactively identifying workplace hazards, and empowering teams towards continuous operational improvements

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in stamping, metal forming, or automotive production
  • Strong understanding of stamping processes, tooling maintenance, and process improvement methodologies
  • Proven experience in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
  • Hands-on leadership approach with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to support new product introduction and process scaling
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPC, Six Sigma, or similar)
