Job Description

Responsibilities

Substitute teachers will assist in the day-to-day operations of the classroom, including the care and supervision of 16 children (ages 2-3) with the support of classroom aides.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing lesson plans
  • Collecting educational artifacts for children's portfolios
  • Classroom management and conflict resolution
  • Supporting hygiene practices, including toilet learning and handwashing
  • Communicating with families and classroom staff
  • Ensuring safe and engaging supervision of children

Appointment Length: September - December, with opportunity for continuation

Shift

Hours: Flexible, up to 30 hours per week, minimum of 15 hours per week
Schedule: Between 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday; Minimum shift length 4 hours

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and some experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year experience working with children aged 6 or younger
Minimum of 9 college credit hours
Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred, but not required

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $19-$21 per hour

Grade: GGS-005
