Position Overview:As a part of the Total Rewards team within the HR division, the Total Rewards Payroll Specialist collaborates with Total Rewards professionals and HR leaders on cyclical and project work in the Total Rewards department. The Total Rewards Payroll Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate administration of US payroll. Responsibilities:
  • Timely and accurately process all regular pay, international pay, special payments, bonuses, deductions, loan payments, contributions, garnishments, etc

  • Process payments to third parties for garnishments and child suppor

  • Reconcile payroll data to 401k plan loan payments and deferrals and process payments

  • Audit timecards to ensure compliance with DigiKey time and absence policies

  • Prepare manual off cycle payroll checks when necessary

  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies

  • Research and create/update federal, state, and local payroll regulations compliance documentation

  • Provide employees support for payroll questions regarding procedures, exceptions and technical/system issues

  • Identify and implement payroll strategies and deliver improved processes across the department

  • Review payroll processes and workflows to identify deficiencies or areas for improvement

  • Lead payroll specific projects, represent the payroll team for cross functional HR projects

  • Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to Total Rewards issues relating to payroll, reporting, analytics

  • Ensure work follows established policies and procedures

  • Prepare and maintain internal and external reports as requested by Total Rewards leadership

  • Develop methods and procedures for compiling and analyzing data for reports and special projects

  • Conduct periodic audits of human resource data to ensure compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of regulatory reports and remittance of payments related to federal and state forms, taxes, and withholdings

  • Provide Workday expertise for day-to-day support and development in Payroll, Time Tracking, and Benefits

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • 3+ years of data entry, document management, or office support

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to effectively present findings to various audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience preferred

  • Global payroll knowledge and experience, preferred

  • Experience with Workday configuration and troubleshooting

Tools / Systems / Software

  • Microsoft Office Suite Microsoft, advanced in Excel

Physical Requirements:
  • Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen

  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is:

$52,000

to

$72,000

Many factors influence the determination of base pay within a range, including the candidate's work experience in related roles; the candidate's knowledge, skills, capabilities, and performance; the relative pay of other DigiKey employees in similar roles; and the budget available for the position.
