The Office of Curriculum in the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks a Medical Education Manager to complement the existing team. The successful candidate is highly organized, attentive to detail, self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of motivating and rewarding others. The Manager of Competency-Based Programs is an integral part of the departmental leadership, who is responsible for managing 6 FTE and ensuring longitudinal content is delivered effectively and efficiently to medical students. The position works closely with the Associate Dean for Clinical Competency to plan, develop, deliver, and monitor the competency-based curriculum, related budgets, and programmatic metrics of success. The longitudinal and competency-based programs include: Foundations of Clinical Medicine (FCM), Patient Student Partnership (PSP), Intersession, Primary Care and Outpatient Medicine (PCOM) Clerkship, and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs). Longitudinal curriculum for the MD students supports the development of critical clinical skills for students during the four years they are in Medical School. The content delivered in these programs is integrated with their coursework and experiential learning. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days on campus per week, with additional on-site presence as needed, in accordance with UVA's remote work guidelines.
