The Senior Manager, Global Engineering Labs will lead nVent's worldwide engineering lab organization, ensuring our facilities, capabilities, and processes enable safe, efficient, and high-quality product development and testing. This leader will establish global standards, optimize utilization across sites, and ensure labs are a competitive advantage in delivering innovative and differentiated system solutions for our customers.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Global Leadership: Direct lab operations across multiple international sites, ensuring alignment with business priorities, engineering needs, and enterprise safety standards.

  • System-Level Validation: Oversee testing beyond compliance and design validation - including reliability, system performance, and optimization - to ensure robust, high-performing solutions in mission-critical applications.

  • Cooling & Advanced Technologies: Build capabilities to support industrial cooling and liquid cooling for data centers, as well as other complex electromechanical systems, ensuring labs stay ahead of emerging requirements.

  • Innovation Enablement: Partner closely with NPI development teams, sustaining engineering, and advanced R&D to accelerate product launches and technology adoption. Collaborate with simulation and modeling teams to evaluate new technologies, optimize designs, and validate differentiated system-level solutions.

  • Operational Excellence: Implement common processes, metrics, and best practices across labs to improve utilization, shorten cycle time, and maximize value from lab investments.

  • Talent & Organization Development: Develop, mentor, and engage lab teams globally. Establish career paths, training, and recognition for technical staff and lab managers.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure labs meet the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and industry certifications, building customer confidence in our solutions.

  • Strategic Investments: Define and manage global lab investment strategy (equipment, facilities, and digital tools), balancing near-term program needs with long-term growth in high-value verticals.

  • Collaboration & Influence: Act as the global voice of lab operations, working with segment and business leaders to anticipate needs, resolve bottlenecks, and continuously improve performance.

  • 20% or less travel, some international potential

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other Technology field preferred or extensive experience in relevant field

  • Ideally 10+ years experience in engineering, product development or test operations, with 5+ years' leading product testing labs preferrable for industrial product development

  • Experience in industrial colling systems, HVAC, or liquid cooling for data centers is a plus

  • Strong background in system-level testing (compliance, reliability, performance, optimization)

  • A vision for AI use in a test lab setting with experience in lab automation systems and robotics.

  • Experienced with interpreting and communicating global codes and standards in a lab environment. Experience with UL/IEC 60335-2-40, UL/IEC 62368, UL 50, 50E and 508a is a plus

  • Understanding of and vision for using programming languages such as Python, R, Java, etc. for automation

  • Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) for managing lab data and workflows is a plus

  • Project management experience, including capital planning and investment in lab infrastructure

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$146,300.00 - $271,700.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
