Summary:

We are actively hiring a full-time Staff QA Engineer who wants to craft something meaningful that will deeply impact people's lives. Bamboo Health supports customer-facing web-based applications that facilitate care coordination. As Staff QA Engineer, you will validate all tiers of our application and explore new technologies and approaches as we continue to expand our services. You should love to pursue tough problems and are constantly searching for elegant solutions while striving for excellence.

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with both platform teams and engineering leadership to ensure the highest standards of quality assurance are met.
  • Collaborate with product managers to ensure customer needs are translated into reliable, high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to and maintain automated testing suites across multiple services and platforms.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for new features and regression cycles.
  • Perform testing for both new development and release regressions.
  • Lead efforts to anticipate and plan for the next generation of software products, contributing to long-term QA strategy.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance workflows through AI or automation tools (e.g., document summarization, task routing, or data parsing).
  • Identify repetitive tasks and partner with team leads to implement scalable automation solutions.

What Success Looks Like...

In 3 months...

  • Become familiar with the details of our business domain, testing process, and automation codebase.
  • Ask questions and build healthcare industry knowledge.
  • Build new automated test cases and enhance existing ones.
  • Perform feature testing and release regression.
  • Begin incorporating AI-supported tools into your day-to-day work-whether through analysis, documentation, or task management.

In 6 months...

  • Consistently deliver on quality assurance expectations.
  • Independently handle implementing complex automated testing scenarios.
  • Become more familiar with our applications and systems.

In 12 months...

  • Suggest ideas for testing improvements and technical enhancements.
  • Participate in automation design process.
  • Be a strong partner to product.

What You Need:

  • 8+ years of Java or similar software development.
  • Experience mentoring QA Engineers and leading QA initiatives in complex environments.
  • Working knowledge of automated testing frameworks using BDD, test scenario writing, and test case management.
  • Familiarity with source control systems, build tools, and software development practices
  • Experience with SQL queries for data validation and testing.
  • Understanding of application logging fundamentals and experience using log monitoring tools.
  • Comfort using or learning AI-supported tools (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, or role-specific tools) to improve daily workflows.
  • A forward-thinking, curious mindset with an openness to experimenting with new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and creativity in designing solutions.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions with minimal distractions.
  • The ability to travel periodically for work.
