Job Summary

The Compliance Analyst will work collaboratively with various University Departments to ensure the institution's compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and all related requirements, such as but not limited to, FIUPD compliance with Title IX, Florida State Statues Chapter 39, internal audits and liaison with local, state, and Federal law enforcement agencies.

  • Coordinates the University's Clery Act Compliance program. Develops the University's Clery Compliance policies and procedures. Prepares, and ensures distribution of the University's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. Ensures notices announcing the availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report are properly developed and available to prospective students and employees. Develops and implements Clery Act required policies, programs, and activities. Sends annual request for crime statistics to all CSA at the end of each calendar year. Submits annual crime statistics to the Department of Education, as required. Coordinates all aspects of the Clery Act Compliance Program to be compliant with rule and regulation set by the appropriate agency. Serves as the Records Custodian for all Clery Act records.
  • Disseminate compliance and ethics communications. Assist in the university-wide risk identification process and conduct unit level compliance risk assessments on an annual basis. Monitor the progress of compliance and ethics training at the unit level. Enter and track compliance policies and training into the compliance tracking system. Attend monthly Compliance Liaison meetings and provide any necessary updates.
  • Gathers crime and disciplinary referral data from various internal and external sources, such as but not limited to, the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity, local law enforcement agencies, and the state police.
  • Works with the appropriate University Departments to identify all Campus Security Authorities (CSA) for the institution and maintains a list for each academic year.
  • Assists in arranging, facilitating, and providing the training of CSA.
  • Coordinates with the appropriate University Departments to ensure compliance with HEA Fire Safety regulations.
  • Ensure the proper classification of crime incident reports.
  • Collects and maintains a comprehensive list of the University's Timely Warnings.
  • Collaborates with the Division of Emergency Management and Office of Public Relations to ensure compliance with the Emergency Notification requirements of the Clery Act.
  • Collaborate with the Division of Emergency Management to ensure that the proper tests are completed each year, including all required components to meet the HEOA definition of a test.
  • Collaborates to ensures the institution maintains accurate records on security awareness and crime prevention programs and presentations.
  • Coordinates with Real Estate and Accounting office to maintain an accurate list of buildings and properties owned and/or controlled by the institution.
  • Ensures compliance with the daily crime and fire log requirements.
  • Works with counseling and psychological services and Student Health Services (or similar advocacy center) to gather statistical data related to crimes disclosed to those offices.
  • Reviews police reports and ensures the University's Title IX coordinator is apprised of any incident related to Title IX compliance.
  • Will ensure all Florida State Statutes Chapter 39 provisions are met, specifically those related to reporting cases of child abuse, abandonment ,and neglect to the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
  • Collaborates with the Office of Student Affairs and/or Human Resources to ensure compliance with the Drug Free Schools and Safe Campuses regulations. Participates in meetings with crossdepartmental stakeholders, including CAPS, OEA, Healthy Living Program, Student Conduct, University Police, and compliance offices to discuss findings and align on next steps. Makes strategic recommendations based on the reviews findings, such as enhancements to educational efforts, revisions to policies, and implementation of new interventions or programs.
  • Works with various University Departments to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Sexual Assault Victim's Bill of Rights.
  • Serves on the Biennial Review subcommittee, which conducts FIU's required review of Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) programs and policies every two years, under the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act. Assists in drafting the Biennial Review Report, typically published in December of even numbered years, summarizing program outcomes, strengths, weaknesses, and policy compliance.
  • Identify grants for FIU Police Department. Collect data needed for identified grants. Identify and compare vendors, if necessary, for grant implementation. Develop grants budgets and justifications as well as other financial report documents. Coordinate with the FIU Office of Research and Economic Development in the preparing, writing and submission of well-researched grant proposals that comply with grant guidelines. Participate in all grant related meeting and trainings. Monitor and maintain grant and contract documents. In collaboration with the FIU Office of Research and Economic Development, prepare interim and final grant reports to funding sources to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Conducts periodic review and revision of all policies and procedures and ensures that policy changes/revisions are submitted for review to command staff. Creates and retains master and archive files for agency written directives. Distributes written directives/policies including any revisions to agency personnel.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Two (2) years of experience in a related field.
