Job Description:

The Networking and Connectivity Solutions (NCS) team within Microchip Technology Inc. is looking for a highly skilled Strategic Marketing Manager in our Chandler, AZ / Karlsruhe, Germany office who can drive market strategy and technical positioning for high-speed automotive networking solutions, including Multi-Gigabit Ethernet (up to 10Gbps) and advanced connectivity interfaces. The candidate should be a self-driven individual who is capable and excited to translate complex networking technologies into compelling market opportunities and customer solutions.

Key job responsibilities/duties include:

  • Promote existing and new solutions to global automotive and industrial customer base
  • Solid customer engagement to drive new solution definition and technical requirements gathering
  • Create technical demonstrations and proof-of-concepts
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams inside and outside of our BU
  • Develop technical collateral including application notes, reference designs or software examples
  • Support customer evaluations with hands-on technical assistance and custom solutions
  • Create early prototypes of future and market leading wired networking products derived from customer input.
  • Bring early prototypes to live in an application context.
  • Create, release and support firmware examples to support these products on our 8-, 16- and 32bit-MCU/MPUs plus competitor products.
  • Create demonstrators to showcase key differentiators of our products together with the marketing and software team and present those in public events.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications and Technical Expertise

  • Bachelors or Masters degree of Electronics, Computer Science or other related fields
  • Strong skills in HW development including schematic, layout and procurement.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with standard lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNA and spectrum analyzers plus debugging capabilities
  • Hands-on experience and strong knowledge of Automotive Networking protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet) and standard network protocols (TCP, IP, UDP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Switches (1G/2.5G/5G/10G) and switching architectures are a plus
  • Understanding of Linux-based embedded systems and automotive software platforms would be optimal
