About the Job

The Greg Metzger, PhD, lab is situated in the world renown Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, in the Department of Radiology. Our center has been pushing the abilities of ultrahigh field MRI imaging systems for several decades. Currently, we have a set of tools written in matlab that require updating, optimization and refinement before making as an open-source toolset to share with the MRI community. The position will involve working with Dr. Metzger's team on understanding and improving the code for the visualization, manipulation, optimization and implementation of static and dynamic parallel transmit solutions crucial for advancing the use of high field systems in human applications.

Work Arrangement: The exact schedule will be determined by your manager. The Department retains the right to modify flexible work arrangement agreements on a temporary or permanent basis for any reason at any time.

Responsibilities:
* 20%: Improve existing functionality of the software
* 20%: Implement newly developed optimization strategies into the software (i.e. SCOPE)
* 20%: Add additional dynamic pTx functionality supported by Siemens R&D (code available)
* 20%: Improving computational efficiency and automated ROI generation
* 10%: Enhance code understandability and documentation
* 10%: Support open and frequent communication with Dr. Metzger to ensure project is on task.
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Required Qualifications:
* Education and experience qualification (must meet one):
1. A combination of education and experience to equal 6 years
2. BA/BS degree plus 2 years of experience
3. BA/BS degree plus a MS
* Willingness to gain experience in MRI reconstruction and analysis
* Willingness to expand knowledge of deep learning methods and optimization
* Experience with Matlab or Python
* Strong verbal and written communication
* Ability to multitask
* Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* MS in a STEM-related field, preferably technology or engineering
* Experience with developing GUI in matlab or python
* Knowledge of MRI physics, reconstruction, and analysis
* Working with complex calculations
* Knowledge of non-linear optimization routines in matlab and python

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $25.00 - $31.00/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
