Position Description

The following description represents major activities of this job on the date indicated. Assignment of duties may vary according to need and to company discretion. Other duties and responsibilities can and will be assigned as needed. The below represents the basic requirements and responsibilities.

Plans, instructs, directs, and reviews work of a group of employees, performing a variety of operations according to print and standard procedures.

Responsible for set up; ensuring equipment and tools are maintained and in good operating condition; and maintaining adequate levels of supplies and materials. Responsible for planning and/or meeting Production schedules and quality levels as designated by management. Flexibility with overtime as necessary. Flexibility with shift assignment as necessary.

SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FROM EMPLOYEES WITH MORE THAN 4 POINTS. HABITUAL ATTENDANCE ISSUES MAY BE CAUSE FOR REMOVAL FROM POSITION. EXPERIENCE, OR APPTITUDE TO LEARN, IN AREA ASSIGNED IS A NECESSARY REQUIREMENT.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities

SAFETY:

  • Maintains equipment and tools in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions in equipment to appropriate party if unsuccessful in correction.
  • Maintains a safe working environment and is proactive at correcting any discovered issues. This includes active participation in all safety programs, such as Near Miss.
  • Actively accepts responsibilities for safety of team members.
  • Audits personnel daily for compliance to all safety requirements (PPE etc.)

QUALITY:

  • Inspects finished item to ensure and maintain required quality. Parts must be checked for compliance to all print dimensions. Detects issues or problems and resolves them immediately.
  • Actively seeks ways to reduce scrap and improve throughput.
  • Understands and works to correct all customer issues on a daily basis. (Quality Alerts etc.)

PRODUCTION/PRODUCTIVITY/LPS/ PRODUCT DELIVERY:

  • Trains, instructs, directs, and reviews work of employees.
  • Pre-plans daily work flow and has adequate back-up plan to reduce down-time. This includes reviewing schedules or assignments and ensuring that supplies and materials are planned out to achieve the stated production goals as provided by the BUL.
  • Maintains and prepares various records or reports as assigned by management.
  • Ensures all employees adhere to company policies and procedures for safety, quality, and efficiencies. Ensures that general work policies are followed, which includes, but is not limited to, breaks and safety.
  • Assist in all operations of the department, including leading and instructing employees. This includes being proactive in assisting with training when required.
  • Actively participates in LPS activities. This includes problem solving, Kaizen events etc.
  • Responsible for adherence to 5-S goals.
  • Mandatory overtime may be necessary to support production operations.

COST:

  • Ensures that daily production requirements are met. Tracks production productivity throughout shift and makes the necessary adjustments to correct any deficiencies.
  • Assigns/reassigns staff to ensure that proper flow is maintained and that good utilization of labor is achieved. This needs to be monitored continuously.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Communicates to supervisor any issues or problems.
  • Communicates to their team on a daily basis. This includes expectations and any/all pertinent issues.
  • Provides feedback on employee issues or problems to supervision.
