Saab's Surveillance U.S. Division is in search of motivated, enthusiastic Engineering students whoare interested in applying their studies to real-world product development through a paid Co-Op/Internshipopportunity.

Saab is currently looking for a Software Engineering Co-Op for Summer 2026 (May-August). Under the guidance of Senior Engineers, Software Engineering Co-Ops will:

  • Actively participate in the software development for Radar systems.

  • Work with senior software engineers to design and develop modular, configurable software that can be used on multiple programs.

  • Participate in internal technical meetings and design reviews.

  • Collaborate with software lead for task planning and scheduling of own activities.

Compensation Range: $20-$22/hr

In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance.

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:
  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program focused in SoftwareEngineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.

  • Completed Sophomore year or greater at time of hire.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

  • Knowledge of Java or C++ software development, and object-oriented experience.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

  • Prior Co-Op experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Desired experience: UML modeling tools for illustrating the software design,software development in a Linux environment, utilizing a unit test framework, and Subversion (SVN) for configuration management.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
